1. Health Care in France GENEVA - The World Health Organization, for the first time, has ranked the health systems of its 191 member countries, and France tops the list for providing the best overall health care. My thanks to mailto:vive-la-france-subscribe@topica.com for this clip. This brings me again to travel insurance, but I say more below. I strongly recommend that you get full travel insurance. Make sure it covers you and you family or traveling companions for at least these items.
Medical bills There are many other headings. The cost seems to work out at about 3% of your trip. You have suggested several other companies to me, I am still waiting for a reply from some of them and I will list them on the sites. Your travel agent may also be able to advise. I have put a link to a couple of insurance companies on our sites at http://goto-france.com/insurance/ I have just made a simple website for a local hotel and restaurant. Looking in their guest book I saw the phrase "An Oasis of Peace and Tranquility" and this really describes it well. A family run establishment in a park which is part of a 17th century community and which has hardly changed in hundreds of years. Have a look at These are two different subjects. I plan to have some sites for each soon, but here in Nizas we are living right in the middle of this rich history of these Knights and Lords from another time and world. Castles on impossible cliffs tops, towns and churches built for medieval wars and still lived in today (like our house), lost treasure, Liberated women of the 12th century. Wonderful stories, it's all great stuff. A lady who is planning tours introduced me to a website with very strong photo images of our region, have a look at.. http://www.provence-camargue.com/acceuil.html The photographer, Gérard Sioen, sells prints (Cibachrome), we have written to him asking for more information but he has not replied yet. I am not a keen fisherman although my 5 year old son has a great time pulling trout out of the water. I am told by fishing enthusiasts here that France is a great place for fishing. The permits are very cheap, about $20 for the whole of the South of France for a season. You can fish in hundreds of places, most are public lakes and rivers and they are kept well stocked. The center for us is in Octon. They don't seem to have a web-site, I am still looking, but I have their phone number and address it is ..
Peche de L'Herault I have started a fishing page at.. http://goto-france.com/fishing/ (Jacks photo is on it) "Rolling clothes is a great way to keep them wrinkle free especially in soft baggage like duffels and back packs. If you save dry cleaner bags they weightless are excellent to use in the “wrinkle” war. Lay one on top of each clothing item and roll them together." Mary Gallagher is a TV presenter and journalist. You can read a lot more about her travels on her "up-beat" (off-beat?) website at For a personalized tour of Paris by a Frenchman who knows the "secret" places look at I know this is nothing to do with France, but I made the web site, so if you are thinking of something a little different after your visit to us in France, why not go to this site.. The owner of the villa "Plaisance" has a week free from August 19. This luxury villa accommodates up to 12 people in comfort. Details our site at http://goto-france.com/plaisance/ If you are interested contact us for details of a special price. A Bientôt Tony
